Senior Technical SEO Specialist

The Senior Technical SEO Specialist supports the SEO director and works directly with clients to implement the strategic digital marketing programs. Experience with technical SEO execution, back-end web development and client communication is required. Experience working with other digital marketing channels, in particular SEM, preferred.

What does this mean? You relish the opportunity to conduct SEO audits and examine the foundation of a website. You enjoy the nitty gritty of tracking all desired metrics within a site and feel comfortable around Google Tag Manager (GTM). Importantly, you like rolling up your sleeves and implementing your findings (mainly, but not limited to WordPress and Shopify sites), along with explaining all aspects of SEO in laymen’s terms with clients (of all levels of digital marketing).

Desire to join a growing digital marketing agency and take on an array of projects (at various levels of complexity) is a must. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SEO guru to further develop and grow their skills in all facets of SEO and digital marketing. The role primarily supports the SEO director, but has ample opportunity (and need) to grow and explore other facets of the digital marketing world. The role requires someone with a jack of all trades mentality and offers opportunities for advancement based on interest, aptitude and proficiency.

We are a fully distributed/remote team and stay connected through Slack. We largely work around an EST schedule. Preference towards candidates located in Central or Eastern US timezones, but are flexible based on qualifications.

Senior Technical SEO Specialist Job Duties:

  • Conduct technical SEO site audits, strong technical SEO background a must
  • Ability to be client-facing and explain the why’s of SEO strategy and execution to clients
  • Google Analytics 4 (GA4) wiz comfortable with analytics setup, reporting, using data to inform SEO strategy, conversion tracking, and platform diagnostics
  • Identify key opportunities via on-page SEO, internal links, etc.
  • Conduct keyword research and provide content recommendations
  • Experience developing sitemap structure, meta tags, robots.txt and other code/dev related knowledge
  • Complete competitive analysis and provide actionable recommendations
  • Execute SEO initiatives based on individual strategic needs of each client
  • Robust experience working with GTM and comprehensively tagging sites
  • Build and update specialized client report dashboards (Looker Studio)
  • Compile client SEO updates based on Google Search Console, SEMRush & Moz
  • Understanding local SEO strategies and tactics including GMB
  • Attend client meetings and present updates/recommendations
  • Experience in QAing other SEO team members’ work is a plus

SEO Competencies/Skills:

  • Minimum 3 years experience in SEO focused on technical is required
  • Strong analytical, conceptual and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to diagnose tagging and tracking issues
  • Track record of improving SERPs
  • Self-starter that can hit the ground running and also works well in cross-functional team environment
  • Dedicated to customer service and desire to work directly with brands to build their business
  • Detail-oriented and ability to prioritize/manage multiple-projects
  • Well versed understanding of digital marketing concepts
  • Advanced knowledge of SEO, GSC, GTM and GA
